Verger

Verger is a garden stitched in thread. On a rich mulberry base, embroidered branches rise from the hem and spread across the body. Leaves, open blooms, and curling Jacobean motifs are worked in dusty pink, aqua, sage, and lilac, like an orchard just coming into flower.

The embroidery is placed, not repeated. It's heaviest at the hem, thins as it climbs, and scattered sprigs float across the body before gathering again at the neckline and sleeves. The fine threadwork gives each flower and leaf its own texture and shading.

The hem is cut along the embroidery, so it follows the curves of the flowers and leaves and falls in soft, uneven points. A side slit adds movement.

The notched neckline is edged with fabric-covered buttons and framed by a line-work placket, with a slender tree branch climbing up one side. From the neckline hang pink and aqua tassels.
