The best way to describe my style would be relaxed and always comfortable. When it comes to traditional South Asian or fusion wear, i really love to mix it up.
When it comes to colors, I love subdued, pastel tones so you’ll see me wearing peaches, greys, maybe a light pink or light blue. But – you gotta love black!
My cousins wedding is coming up, so I had a fun time going through Boulevard One Online’s Wedding Lookbook to come up with 4 looks to show you how it’s done:
Every wedding needs atleast 1 statement outfit for the bridesmaid or friends attending. For me, the ultimate event is the wedding party, or Sangeet/Mehendi. I chose this lovely Basit Sipra Lehenga because no body wears black to a wedding, so ill be sure to stand out! The skirt would feel so good when you’re dancing, you’d want to keep spinning in it all night long! I paired my own sexy black crop top with it to give it a modern twist, and these lovely jewelry pieces by Hina Zafar to dress up the plain top.
I chose this Sana Sheikh grey number for a formal reception look, because WOW! This stunner is super comfy and super dressy at the same time. I would accessorize it minimally, with long shoulder duster earrings by Opuline. I would only add maybe a cuff and definitely a clutch to hold my phone, because i don’t go anywhere without it!
What if you’re going to a destination wedding? In Dubai, there is always a chance of a boat party or brunch. I chose this Peach Ivy number for such a function. Its got sequins that shimmer when you move, and adds real sass to your look whilst still looking elegant AF.
Gold is the ultimate traditional color, and it always compliments our natural skin tone. I chose this outfit for the traditional fabric and embroideries on it but love the modern cut with bootcut trousers.
Im going to leave you with 3 style tips for this upcoming Wedding Season:
- Always carry slippers with you, especially if you’re wearing heels.
- Always carry vaseline, because NO body likes dry lips
- Invest in at least one pair of nude inners, because everybody needs that in their wardrobe!
